I get it Jeff. I’m no longer a runner because of multiple back surgeries, but I’m now a cyclist. I ride solo 99% of the time. It’s a spiritual thing for me. I’m 67 years old and planning to ride from Jacksonville, FL to Key West, about 500 miles. People ask me: are you riding with a group. I say no, just me. They look at me like I’m crazy and try to dissuade me with horror stories they’ve heard. I don’t listen to any media either — no earbuds. The only thing I want to hear on a long ride is the rubber on the road and my own breathing. I love the solitude. Thanks for sharing!
